Gear Hammock

We all love having a product that can pull double or even triple duty.  Ot means less weight, smaller pack sizes and simpler set ups.  One product that fits that bill is the Gear Hammock . . . . that is also a Hammock Chair . . . . that is also a Ground Sheet.

  • Available in a variety of weights/colors of ripstop nylon or silnylon/xenon sil 
      - Please note that if you want a waterproof fabric, you will want to select a fabric listed as either silnylon or xenon sil from the drop down list.  The Multicam Ripstop is not a waterproof fabric, but does have a DWR coating.
  • Size: 52" Long & 48" Wide
  • Can choose options to allow for various uses (i.e. loops, biners, suspension)
  • Loops - can choose no loops, lash it loops, or Amsteel loops (best for hammock chair application)
  • Biners - can choose no biners, mini biners, or full size carabiners (best for hammock chair application)
  • Suspension - can choose no suspension, 20’ Lash It line, or 6’ Amsteel Whoopie Slings (when using in hammock chair application)
  • Optional zippers can be installed to keep animals out & allows it to be used as a storage sack
  • Optional Stuff sack to store everything in
  • Standard Zipper adds .6 oz, while a Uretek Water Resistant zipper adds 1.2 oz

Custom oversized gear hammock to use as hammock chair

The custom oversized (60"x54") gear hammock that you made me arrived a few weeks ago. As usual, you got it to me quickly and your workmanship is impeccable.
I used it instead of a camp chair on a 4 day AT hike last week, and was extremely pleased. With a pair of 6' straps and stuff bag, it was 8oz, less than half the weight of my REI flex lite, was at least as fast to deploy or take down, and was way more stable and comfortable.
I fastened the straps to the loops with a beckett hitches, one at ~head level, and one at ~waist level depending upon tree separation.
Bonus uses as needed include gear hammock and/or underquilt protection in bad weather (I normally hang my pack from the foot of my hammock), and use of the straps to extend the length of my hammock straps for big trees. The downside... you need trees ~5-10 part, not hard to find in the Southeast..

I took the gear hammock out last week for a two night trip and absolutely loved it. It is light, big and well made.

Simply Amazing!

The Gear Hammock w/ waterproof zipper is the perfect compliment to my set up. I attached whoopie slings to the loops and slips over the ends of my Blackbird xlc. Its easily adjustable and fits my 65L pack & boots with room to spare. The Gear Hammock fits perfectly in the zippered strap pouch on the Hammock Catch All which I highly recommend (I like it better than the more expensive Anaconda). I couldn't imagine setting up without the Catch All or staying organized without the Gear Hammock. The (2)Skins are great too, fixes everything annoying about the snake skins.

I have been dealing with Jared since he first started ....i never gave a review . i need a lot of time , to review anything, put it thru hard use, and durability testing. TOP NOTCH WORKMANSHIP through out .
can't be better .. i've got many , many hammocks, many ,many tarps, over a dozen Catch-All Sacks ( which i helped develop ), dozens of stuff sacks , custom bug nets , custom socks , gear hammocks , and more. i am a full time hammocker , for more than 15 years , 7 / 365, even when i was working , ALL SEASON -10°F to 100°F , even hurricanes
