The Classic Solo is a simple, lightweight backpacking tarp designed to provide dependable coverage without unnecessary size or complexity. Its 9' length works well for solo shelters and other compact backpacking setups.
Choose from several lightweight waterproof fabrics along with tie-out hardware and optional features to configure the tarp for your preferred setup.

Tie-Out Options
The standard tarp includes eight perimeter tie-outs: four corner tie-outs and four intermediate tie-outs. An additional four tie-outs can be added, providing two additional attachment points along each long side.
Tie-outs can be configured with:
- Loops Only — Simple, lightweight attachment points
- Line Loc 3 — Works best with approximately 2–2.5 mm line
- Line Lock V — V-groove design capable of holding line as small as approximately 1 mm
- Line Lock Lite 10 mm — Works well with approximately 1.5 mm line
- Line Lock Lite 15 mm — Lightweight option for approximately 2–3 mm line
- 1/2" D-Rings
Optional Features
Reflective Guyline — 2 mm Orange Reflective Guyline is available in several lengths. This line is not compatible with Line Lock V or 10 mm Line Lock Lite hardware.
Side Panel Pull-Outs — A pair of pull-outs located within the tarp body. They are centered along the length of the tarp and normally positioned approximately 3' and 6' from the end.
Patch Kit — Includes a small tube of silicone caulk, matching tarp fabric, and a stir stick for emergency field repairs. Matching fabric is normally approximately 12" × 12", although the available size may vary with custom or specialty fabrics.

Custom Fabrics
I can order other solid colors as needed from the applicable fabric supplier. Xenon Sil fabrics are sourced from Dutchware, while Silpoly fabrics are sourced from Ripstop by the Roll. Available colors may change, so please verify current color availability with the appropriate supplier before ordering.
Notes
Finished tarp width varies with the selected fabric. Standard-width fabrics produce a tarp approximately 56" wide, while Xenon Wide fabrics are approximately 68” wide and Silpoly XL produces a tarp approximately 70" wide.
Listed tarp weights are average weights and will vary with fabric selection, tie-out configuration, and additional options.

Jared was very helpful with my custom tarp inquiries and order. I used the tarp once so far and I only staked out the ridge line and four corners. It held up to some windy conditions without any problems.
Having used the tarp for over half a year I have been very happy with it and feel I can leave an honest review. The stitching and quality are great. It still looks good as new.
At a little under 6 feet tall I have used the 56” wide tarp in a low a-frame through freezing rain and snow late in the fall all the way to light drizzles this spring.
The 108” length has been plenty for me to sleep dryly using either A-frame or half pyramid. All perimeter tabs have been holding up without any wear.
Lastly communication with Simply Light Designs was straight forward and great! I was able to pick the silpoly of my choice and it was made and shipped out as promised.
