Shell Fabrics

The Eclipse uses lightweight synthetic shell fabrics. Fabric selection affects finished weight, breathability, durability, and the feel of the quilt.

Fabric Characteristics
Argon 67 Ultralight fabric available as an inner shell option to reduce weight.
Argon 90 Lightweight, breathable fabric offering a balance of weight and durability.
Ion Lightweight fabric with greater wind resistance than Argon 90.

Fabric and color availability may differ between the inner and outer shells. Refer to the product configurator for current choices.

Climashield Apex Insulation

The Eclipse uses Climashield® Apex continuous-filament synthetic insulation.

Unlike down insulation, Apex does not require internal baffles to maintain its insulation distribution. It also retains useful insulating performance in damp conditions.

Temperature Ratings

Apex Insulation Comfort Rating
2.5 oz/yd² 50°F
3.6 oz/yd² 40°F
5.0 oz/yd² 30°F
6.0 oz/yd² 20°F

These are approximate comfort ratings rather than guarantees. Actual warmth depends on personal temperature sensitivity, clothing, wind, humidity, sleeping-pad or underquilt insulation, and other conditions.

Quilt Length and Width

Choose the quilt length according to your height and preferred amount of coverage.

Length Options

Size Recommended Height Finished Length
Short Up to approximately 5’6” 72”
Regular Up to approximately 6’2” 78”
Long Over 6’2” 84”

The generous length allows additional coverage around the shoulders and head when needed. Keep your nose and mouth unobstructed while sleeping.

Width Options

Width Finished Width
Standard Approximately 50”
Wide (Argon 90) Approximately 56–57”
Wide (Ion) Approximately 58”

The Wide configuration provides additional coverage for broader shoulders, greater freedom of movement, or customers who prefer a roomier quilt.

Footbox Options

The Eclipse has a sewn footbox that encloses the feet and lower legs, helping retain warmth.

Choose the footbox size according to your footwear size and preferred amount of room.

Footbox Size Circumference General Shoe Size
Small 36” Up to approximately men’s size 8
Medium 40” Up to approximately men’s size 12
Large 46” Men’s size 13 and larger

Shoe sizes are approximate guidelines, not strict limits. Customers who prefer extra foot room may choose a larger footbox.

Collar Options

The Eclipse offers three neck-opening configurations.

Collar Characteristics
No Collar Simple, minimalist opening without additional collar material.
Cinch Collar Drawcord adjustment around the neck opening to help reduce drafts.
Insulated Draft Collar Additional insulated material around the opening to improve draft protection and heat retention.

The Cinch Collar allows the opening to be drawn closer around the shoulders and neck. The Insulated Draft Collar adds insulation at the opening for colder conditions.

Pad Attachment and Fit

The Eclipse includes four sets of attachment loops.

These loops can be used to secure the quilt to a sleeping pad with an appropriate attachment arrangement or to help manage coverage and fit.

When using the Eclipse on the ground, choose a sleeping pad with insulation suitable for the expected temperatures. A top quilt does not provide the compressed underside insulation of a sleeping bag.

When using the Eclipse in a hammock, pair it with suitable underside insulation, such as an underquilt.

Storage and Accessories

The Eclipse includes a stuff sack and an oversized storage bag.

Use the stuff sack for transportation. For long-term storage, keep the quilt loosely stored in its oversized bag rather than continuously compressed.

Optional Compression Sack

A compression sack can reduce packed size during travel. Avoid prolonged compression when the quilt is not in use.
