The Streamliner is a different take on the traditional gathered-end hammock. While catenary curves have long been used in tarps and tents, they are rarely applied to hammocks.
The Streamliner takes the basic Tree Runner design and applies a catenary curve to the sides and a reverse catenary curve to the ends of the hammock. For many, the result is a unique hammock that reduces calf ridge while also minimizing the enclosed feeling created by excess fabric along the sides.
This is a more specialized design intended for the adventurous hanger looking to try something different and is better suited for sleeping than lounging.

How the Streamliner Differs
Reduced Calf Ridge — The catenary curves at the ends help spread the fabric and reduce pressure beneath the lower legs.
Reduced Walled-In Feeling — The side curves remove excess fabric, creating a more open feel while lying in the hammock.
Different Sitting Experience — Because of the catenary-cut design, the edges become more taut under load than they do in a traditional gathered-end hammock. When used as a chair, the edges may press more firmly against the backs of your legs.

Please note that hammock width also influences comfort. A wider hammock may allow some users to comfortably use a shorter hammock length.
Streamliner length is measured along the center of the hammock rather than along the edges.
Absolutely love this hammock for a near flat diagonal sleep. Due to the unique shape, my existing underquilt/cocoon isn't a great fit so better suited to summer use or with a foil backed foam pad but would definitely recommend

Perfect fall/winter hammock
I got an 11' in Hexon 1.2 to use for my fall and winter pack and it does not disappoint. It weighs a little under 9oz with ridgeline & continuous loops. The cat cut takes away so much unnecessary fabric, revealing a better view and taking care of excess fabric flop, all while maintaining a comfortable lay.
While the more narrow cut does mean there's some limitations compared to my luxuriously wide ~65" Trail Lair, I can not only still find my sweet spot to lay in, I can also still flip around and lay on my side, or figure 4 with one leg up. And there's zero calf ridge pressure.
The sides do get quite taut but I've gotten used to it and still lounge/sit in it like I do with my other hammocks.

Great Hammock
I have been dealing with Jared since he first started ....i never gave a review . i need a lot of time , to review anything, put it thru hard use, and durability testing. TOP NOTCH WORKMANSHIP through out .

Great quality!
Very well made! The hang is great with a shorter ridgeline length. Which I don't find the most comfortable for my size. I need a longer ridgeline for less sag. (For a flatter lay) However, with the end cuts a longer ridgeline makes the sides tight to your shoulders. But if you like a shorter ridgeline length then this would be a great hammock for sleeping. The side cuts are quite a nice design. Really makes it feel more open.

First SLD hammock purchase
I recently purchased the Streamliner after initially being very impressed with the quality of previously purchased top and under quilt that I used with a different brand of hammock. I regretted the purchase of that other brand and that was the reason to purchase the Streamliner from SLD.
I received the hammock and tarp very quickly and set it up in my garage to prepare for its first use on an early spring trip to the BWCA in Northern MN.
I just returned the other day and simply put, I never slept so soundly. I looked forward to naps during the day and drifting off to sleep every night. I love the removal of the extra flappy material. I am looking forward to more camping trips this season with this hammock. Great Job and great product!
